Catalog Full Description
A Major in History helps prepare graduates for virtually any career by fostering an understanding of key social, political, and economic developments in the human past, an understanding of the cultural diversity of Texas, the United States, and the world, and the ability to think critically and communicate effectively. The History major is a program of study, therefore, for those students desiring to work in such areas as business, law, education, government, politics, public relations, journalism, publishing, public policy, public history, and research. It provides marketable skills for entry-level positions in any career requiring effective critical thinking, oral communication, intercultural competency, and analytical research and writing.
